The words "She is yearning for shelter and affection that she never found at home and the canyons ever widening in the depths of her cold heart," tell a real story. So many fathers haven't provided the affection that their daughters so desperately needed. I have heard many stories in group meetings where women share that their fathers were so distant from them, that they never once heard " I love you" from them. Not just that but sexual abuse is a common thread in many women's lives. Maybe not from their fathers but often times from close relatives that certainly caused them to have such "cold, cold hearts." This phrase the chose, " She is searching for a hero to ride in, to ride in and save the day," is an accurate portrail of real life. There are so many ladies that I have met in my life time, who make comments like "I just need a man who can take care of me so I won't have to work." I guess the lyrics that caught my attention the most though are these " the hope thats tucked away in you and me." Such an amazing choice of words. When I think of how they have exposed my sin and at the same time admitted to their own wrong doing, I just want to go and tell someone about Jesus. Casting Crowns, thanks for another anazing song.
