What is the Gospel? The gospel is the word of God. It is good news to those who are perishing. When we share about Jesus with others it is important to include the word of God, because as our verse says, it is the power of God unto salvation. One of my favorite verses to use when witnessing to others is John 14:6; (Jesus said) "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This then allows me to share that Jesus is the only way to get to heaven, there is no other way.
