Throw Off Sin

Heb 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.
Devotional
This is a verse that commands us to take action. First we must recognize that there are things in our lives that are hindering our walk with the Lord and sinful things that keep us entangled. Once we look at ourselves truthfully and accept that we have ungodly ways in our lives, we then decide to throw them off. These actions will bring a wonderful change in our lives as we fix our eyes on Jesus and run in his race rather than running in sin and the hindrances of the world. Spend some quiet time with the Lord and ask him to show you if there is any sin or hindrances that need to be thrown off.
