God has gifts that he desires for us to have. God imparts these gifts into our spirits so we can accomplish his purposes. God may supernaturally impart these gifts into our lives; or they can be imparted by a teaching we hear, while we are studying or when a person anointed by God lays hands on us and prays. I have a friend who writes songs and poems, we were together one evening just talking, during this time that we were together, I realized that God was doing something within my spirit. That night right after he left the house, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit come upon me, and I started writing poems. I wrote three poems and in my mind I could hear specific words as they streamed onto the paper from my fingers. Up until that time in my life I had never written a poem. Now two and a half years later I have written close to 100 of them. Truly that night, the anointing that was on my friend to write poems was imparted to me.
