Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Devotion
People who are depressed and sad, often times it is because they have lost their hope. If you are feeling discouraged, put your hope in God. Ask him to fill you with hope and to take away the despair.
Hope is one of the very things that give us strength to live; it allows us to see a better way of living. By reading the bible we get filled with hope as we read about the things that God is able to do, if we can only believe and have faith. Those who are sick, hope to become well. Many, who are poor, hope that God will supply their needs. The lonely hope to be comforted by God and others. Those who are sad, hope to be joyful again. God is able to do all of these things and more; we need to learn to put our hope in God.
