Abusiveness: The end result of all types of abusive behavior is wrecked individuals, along with separated and destroyed families. Drug abuse, alcohol abuse, substance abuse, child abuse, and sexual abuse are sending statistics to all time highs. The teens and youth of our nation in this generation are at the highest level of risk of being abused than ever before. If some type of abuse is effecting your life we are here to pray for you.
My self having lived in a very abusive situation for many years, I can very well identify with the fear that grips the victims of physical and emotional abuse. Not just that type of dysfunction but in another situation, my mother battled with alcohol for 11 out of the first 16 years of my life. In my mid thirties, I also experienced the greatest pain ever in my life, "divorce." A thirteen year marriage was destroyed through the courts within months. My world was shattered along with my three children and my wife's life was, as well. I turned away from an alcohol and drug free life to a life of sex, drugs and many other types of addictions. I so desperately needed relief from the pain. Eventually, after several hard and difficult years of being addicted to alcohol, I cried out to God for help. He heard my cries and answered my prayer. I left that old man and life behind and clung to my savior, Jesus Christ. What he did for me he will do for you also. He brings freedom to the prisoners and healing to the diseased, depressed, oppressed and broken hearted.
Here at our prayers for teens site we really care about people and believe that the same God who delivered me from several abusive situations and healed me, will do the same for you. We know the pain and difficulty of these horrible life experiences. Thats why we started this site, because people need a real touch from God in there lives. I can testify of the Lords goodness, power and love. He is alive and he wants to help, deliver and heal you.
Treatment centers and support groups are emerging for all types of abusiveness and disorders. Very few people in our present culture don't know what the term Twelve(12) step program means, it has become common language. Another common term is dysfunction or dysfunctional families or individuals. Bill Wilson, the fonder of Alcoholics Anonymous(AA) wrote the twelve steps. They are designed to lead a person into a real relationship with a loving God.The steps teach them how to live life one day at a time while learning how to surrender their life to God. The first step(1) is I am powerless over alcohol and my life has become unmanageable. These different types of support groups just change a few words around to adapt to the nature of the group therapy meeting.. Rather than being powerless over alcohol, the addict is powerless over food, cocaine, heroin, gambling, extacy, sex or many other debilitating habits. By exchanging a word the steps apply to many illnesses, diseases and addictions. If you or some one you know is suffering from abusive situations, we encourage you to speak to your pastor. If you don't have one, find a local church. Most churches will gladly assist in helping you get onto the road for healing and change.
